The Video Source was one of NZ's first video stores, opening in 1982. At one stage the Fermah group was one of the largest private investors in New Zealand in video. The chain has won numerous awards including the Kerridge Odeon best video store (Kawerau store), runner up video chain in New Zealand, as well New Zealand's best video chain (awarded by the New Zealand video distributors). Some awards were won two or three times over consecutive years. The Video Source introduced seven day hire and three day new release hire amongst many other ground breaking marketing initiatives.
